Academic Tutoring

1. How are you doing with each of your targets?

Have you achieved them? What resources have you used? Are you keeping a note of your progress? Do you have evidence you have achieved your targets? Do you need to continue with any of these targets?

2. Subject review

Take the time to review each subject. How are you doing? Do you know the level you are working at? Are you clear on the requirements for each subject? Do you know how to progress? Are you making clear Learning Journal entries to reflect on set tasks and summarise key strategies for improvement?

3. Skills

Are you aware of where you are using the Personal Learning and Thinking Skills in your subjects as well as any other school activities, a club perhaps or Giving Nation in Year 8 or activities outside school? Look at the UCAS competencies.

In particular are you a reflective Learner? You should aim to make this a natural part of your learning. The best learners are self aware.

4. New targets

Successful people set themselves targets and consider carefully how they will achieve those targets. Consider the new targets you wish to set yourself. What could you do that would really make a difference? See the  targets page for ideas.
